The art students of the Further Education Centre in Abbeyleix are embarking on a unique work experience project in the coming weeks. The students are working with the Heritage House, the tidy towns committee and Abbeyleix Bog Project. The concept is to create a fresco painting in the Heritage House recording aspects from the history of the town. This part of the work experience is being facilitated by Enrico Ferriani an Italian artist based in Florence. The group will work with Enrico to realise the finished piece. Working alongside Enrico will be John Hennessey of Kerbute Productions who will aid the students to create a documentary based on the process. The painting of the Fresco will commence on the 23rd feb – 27th feb at the Heritage House. Visitors are most welcome to view the project over the week. Keep an eye on the events page for upcoming details of the official unveiling of the Fresco.
